Welcome Party & English Games★
Hello everyone!
This is Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
Before Golden Week my second year students held a lunch party in the English Lounge for my first year students.
They bought pizza and cake, and made sandwiches, salad and cookies.
They’re so kind!
They could make friends, and the food was yummy!!
On Fridays we have a class called English Games.
Last week we played a famous person guessing game.
We had a very nice team battle, and it was a lot of fun!!
See you soon!
World Communication♡
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
Last week classes started.
My first year students have a very special class called “World Communication”.
They study together with overseas students at ITHB.
Their classmates come from Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
Last week they introduced themselves, and this week we had an international food quiz.
They learn about culture and language, and also make international friends.
It’s very interesting and good fun!
Happy Golden Week everyone!!
Happy New School Year♪
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
Happy New School Year everyone!
On Tuesday it was our college entrance ceremony.
I have ten very nice new first year students on my course.
We went on an orientation trip to British Hills in Fukushima.
It was cold but really beautiful.
We took a British sports class, a culture & manners class and a cooking class.
It was a lot of fun!
We also had a delicious British dinner and played games after dinner.
My students used a lot of English, and slept very well on the bus back to Chiba!
The students became friends and they are now ready to start classes next week.
I’m really looking forward to teaching them for two years!
Good luck to them!
✿Spring Days✿
Hi everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
On 17th March my second year students had their graduation ceremony.
It was nice because we could all meet again, but we were sad too!
I’ll miss them!
On 19th March one second year student left Japan to work in a hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany!
Some classmates and I said goodbye at Narita Airport.
We were very excited for her, but we’ll miss her!
This week all our native English teachers came to ITHB.
Left to right: Jayson (U.S.A.), Rhys (U.K.), Frances (U.S.A.), Nick (U.K.), Mickey (Canada), Terry (Trinidad & Tobago), Robert (Australia).
I was standing between Jayson and Nick, so I felt very small!!!
The four new teachers met my first year students for the first time.
It was exciting!
Our new first year students start school next week.
I’m looking forward to seeing them. It will be fun!
See you soon!
DFED⑤♪
Hello everyone!
This is Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How are you all?
It’s still cold, isn’t it?
My first year students are on their spring holidays, but today they came to school for DFED (Don’t Forget English Day).
It was nice to see them all again!
They studied TOEIC for three hours, Chinese for one hour, and we had a long homeroom.
They are busy job hunting at the moment, so we talked about their dreams over lunch.
It was interesting and fun!
They are all taking the TOEIC test twice this month!!
They’ll be back at school on Friday for more practice.
Good luck to them!!
Our English teachers♪
Hi everyone!
I’m Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
I’d like to introduce two of our native English teachers.
This is Nick, and he is from Manchester in England.
He came to Japan almost 20 years ago.He has been working at ITHB for four years.
He likes watching football (he’s a Manchester United fan!) and he loves live music.
He can play the euphonium!
He’s the tallest teacher at ITHB, and maybe he’s the tallest teacher in Japan… he’s 197cm tall!!!
This is Mickey from Prince Edward Island in Canada.
He’s been teaching English in Japan for eight years.
He’s a very talented musician & singer, and he writes his own songs!
He has also written an English textbook!!
A lot of people say he looks like Tom Cruise!
He looks like a movie star, doesn’t he?!?!
See you soon!
Speech Contest♪
Hello everyone!
This is Rhys Wedlock of the Foreign Languages Department.
How’s it going?
Last Thursday we had our Speech Contest.
All of my first year students and most of my second year students entered.
They made very nice speeches about many different topics.
Everybody did their best and spoke very well!
It was very difficult to choose the five prize-winners.
Congratulations to them!
Special congratulations to my first year student Grace, who won!
The Speech Contest was the last day of school life for my second year students.
After it finished, I think we all cried!
They were a fantastic class, and I really enjoyed teaching them.
I miss them and I wish them all the best for the future!
I hope we can meet again soon!
Take care everyone!
